Chicken for soup (piece)
Authentic Dajaj Beldi – Traditional Chicken Soup
For authentic, homemade flavor: Our Dajaj Beldi (Moroccan for "country chicken") is the first choice for connoisseurs of traditional cuisine. Unlike conventional broiler chickens, these birds grow more slowly, giving them firmer meat and an incomparably deep, robust flavor. It's the ultimate meat for hearty soups and traditional festive dishes.
Why our Dajaj Beldi is so special:
-
100% Halal certified: Naturally, our Dajaj Beldi is slaughtered and processed according to the strictest Halal guidelines. Purity you can taste.
-
Nutritious & Invigorating: In naturopathy and traditional cuisine, Beldi chicken soup is often valued for strengthening the immune system – rich in natural collagen and valuable minerals.
-
Intense flavor: Because the meat is more mature, it develops a depth of flavor during long braising that cannot be compared to modern poultry.

Inspiration from the kitchen
Dajaj Beldi is the indispensable star in the classics of Moroccan cuisine:
-
Rfissa: Probably the most famous dish for Dajaj Beldi. Served on a bed of msemmen strips, refined with lentils, fenugreek (halba) and a highly aromatic sauce.
-
Traditional soups: Whether a simple chicken broth with ginger and turmeric or as a base for a particularly rich harira .
-
Couscous: Many families prefer Beldi chicken for their Friday couscous, as it makes the sauce much richer.
Our preparation tip: Dajaj Beldi takes time. To ensure the meat becomes tender and infuses its full flavor into the sauce, it should ideally simmer for 2 to 3 hours over low heat (or be cooked in a pressure cooker). The wait is worth it – the broth is pure gold!
